Christmas Toys
Thursday, December 25, 2008 at 04:17PM
I'm having so much fun playing with my new Christmas toys. These words were lettered in walnut ink with a Brause EF66 nib in an oblique pen holder. I love the look of walnut ink, don't you?
The first person who can tell me what song these words came from will get a frame-able copy of this piece in the mail. Just leave your guess in the comments of this post and be sure to leave a way for me to contact you if you win!
I'll be returning to regular blogging soon and will probably share some photos of Elliott's first Christmas later today or tomorrow. It was a BLAST seeing him open his presents. Just wait until you see. . .

Here we come a'wassailing! I had Five year olds ask me what a'wassailing meant a week or so ago!
Wow! That was fast! I've got your email; I'll get it in the mail right after the first of the year!

Hi Kim. Walnut ink is so pretty.
Now, I haven't been following too closely--did you make that ink?
XO
Hi Jill!
No, I didn't make it. I gathered enough walnuts to make a batch but once I read the recipe I decided against it--you have to keep it simmering for 24 hours! I bought walnut crystals and re-constituted it. It's a lovely ink and I'm having fun playing with it.
