What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Mark All Read

I give up.  My Google Reader shows 256 unread posts, so I'm clicking the "mark all read" button and starting over.  I hope I haven't missed anything significant in anyone's life.  Let me know if I need to be praying for you or rejoicing with you.

I've just been scanning the posts you made while I was away this past week. Praise God for the good news! I hope all is well!

Sometimes it's best to do just that....clean out your Google Reader and start all over. I need to take your advice and do that myself since mine is way too full as well. So glad that you're back on the computer and that your son is doing so well. God is good!

Dear Kim - I'm behind in my blog-reading too and missed your posts about Jake - I'm sorry to hear all that has happened but also glad to hear that things are now going well. I'll add my prayers and thanksgiving to the rest. xo Kathie

I don't even know what a google reader is- so I think clearing it must be a step forward! Everything is one's own life is significant ,Kim. I'm just thankful that God doesn't rely on my memory to keep me in prayer. He calls me and reminds me and I have learned to obey. I like to think that prayers are important even without the stimulus of crisis- pray for me in the quiet times of life and that is sufficient.

Absolutely! I understand what you are saying and you are right!

However, there is a special blessing given and received when God's people intercede specifically for each other, don't you think? We are commanded to bear each others' burdens, and the lifting up each other in prayer lightens the burdens being borne by God's people. God ordains both the burden and the prayers of His people. I have felt the comfort and strength that God grants through the prayers of God's people so keenly in the last few weeks. It is a mystery and a unique blessing we enjoy on this side of heaven!

Someday, we shall have complete, sweet communion with each other as we are gathered together in Christ, but until then, our intercession for each other is a glimpse into that fuller communion.

Thank you for your comment today. I have trouble blogging around, due to all kinds of obligations, but I'll try to be back!

Only 256? Mine shows 470! I'm thrilled to hear of the Lord's faithfulness on behalf of your Jake--may He be praised!
