Note to Self: First Frost
Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 08:02AM
Thirty-two degrees with blue spruce colored frost in open areas. Fifty-five degrees in the house this morning. Had to turn the furnace on for the first time to take off the chill. Tomorrow promises to be almost wintery with snow in the forecast. Measurable snow.
Eve didn't want go out. Ivy was revved up and running around like a crazy dog.
Now the rush begins. The leaves will start pelting down and we'll be washing windows with chilled fingers and tallying up the filled leaf bags as we set them on the curb.
The first frost last year was a killing frost on October 28.

I guess we're sending the cold weather your way. It was 19 degrees this morning and everything is covered with frost and light snow. Not much of a transition this year. 70 degrees one day, and freezing the next. I don't think I'm ready for it...
Oh brrr...
Batten down the hatches!!
..and so it starts. You think we'd be ready for it. It happens every year.
And yet, brrr!
I have to say, though, I LOVE this cooler weather!! I would much prefer to have it colder than too hot!
