What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

Sunday Hymn: O The Deep, Deep Love of Jesus!

O the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus!

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Vast, unmeasured, boundless, free;
Rolling as a mighty ocean
In its fullness over me.
Underneath me, all around me,
Is the current of thy love;
Leading onward, leading homeward,
To thy glorious rest above.

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Spread his praise from shore to shore;
How he loveth, ever loveth,
Changeth never, nevermore;
How he watches o'er his loved ones,
Died to call them all his own;
How for them he intercedeth,
Watcheth o'er them from the throne.

O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
Love of ev'ry love the best:
'Tis an ocean vast of blessing,
'Tis a haven sweet of rest.
O the deep, deep love of Jesus!
'Tis a heav'n of heav'ns to me;
And it lifts me up to glory,
For it lifts me up to thee.

Trinity Hymnal #453

It's been a long time since we've sung this hymn and I miss it!  I woke up yesterday morning with it running in my mind.

"Tis a heaven of heav'ns to me!" And for that reason, I love this hymn!

It has been a while! I surely wouldn't mind singing it again soon!

You posted this this very morning???

I am listening the group Selah sing this hymn right now. I am blown away by it's beauty and googled to find out any information I could on it. And here is you saying woke up with it in your head!

Amazing!

This is one of my favorite Welsh songs! In fact, this is probably the first Welsh tune I was ever aware of as being Welsh. It ignited a passion for Welsh hymns that ultimately led me to join the local St. David's Society...and I'm not even Welsh! And it was a Google search for that almost untranslatable Welsh word, Hiraeth, which led me to your blog. O the deep, deep love of Jesus indeed!
