What I Believe
QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Compare yourself with those who on the Lord’s Day hear nothing except the dismal sound of the world. What a privilege it is for you to hear the proclamation of the gospel!

"Why are our updates all about our victories- I just made cookies for the family; My son just hit the game winning home run; rather than our failures- I just shouted at my little girl; I left my computer on the airplane and it’s gone?"

That got me thinking.

I haven't read the article yet, but I am guessing that it will confirm many of my reasons for leaving FB. I have not regretted one minute since deletion. Whew.

I thought that each of his points could apply equally to anything in our lives - using the test of the 10 questions he poses about Facebook could (and possibly should) lead us to challenge our involvement in any activity, whether Facebook, housework, work-work, and, as he pointed out at the end of his article, even church involvement/activities, etc. How many children grew up turned off by "church" because their parents were so involved in the work of the church that they neglected their families?
