Nestled deep in green
hand rubbed mahogany
spreads autumn fingers

The thing about photopoetry is that some images just make you want to keep going:
Observance
silken woodgrains
spiky armor
redolent and evocative;
a tiny wisp of
sticky fingered remembrance
This photo brought back memories of another November day, twelve years ago, when I stooped to pick up a pinecone at my Grandmother's graveside service. I still have that pinecone, an emblem of that day; grief and joy, old memories and pungent new ones.

You have a way with words. That photo is a beautiful one. The rose on the ABC's of the word header was taken by Pam of a rose in her yard. She doesn't know what kind it is but Mighty Mom commented and said she thinks it's a Peace Rose ...

That is beautiful ! I've been collecting cones -and pods and flowers all over the island- today I found some bark that it absolutely gorgeous! I love cones!
